PWHL Training Camps Open November 18th for 2026-27 Season
The Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) will commence training camps for the 2026-27 season on Wednesday, November 18th. This follows the conclusion of the 2026 IIHF Women's World Championship, which runs from November 6th to 16th in Denmark.
As part of their preparations and player evaluations, all 12 PWHL teams will participate in two preseason scrimmages. These exhibition games will take place across five PWHL markets between November 22nd and 30th.
Three of the league's four expansion teams will host these preseason scrimmages. PWHL Hamilton, at Morgan Firestone Arena, will welcome PWHL Detroit, the Ottawa Charge, and the Toronto Sceptres. PWHL Las Vegas will host the Minnesota Frost and Vancouver Goldeneyes at America First Center. Meanwhile, PWHL San Jose will face the Seattle Torrent at Tech CU Arena. The Toronto Sceptres will also host the Ottawa Charge at Toronto's Mattamy Athletic Centre, and the Boston Fleet will play the Montréal Victoire and New York Sirens at the Boston Sports Institute.
Each scrimmage will consist of 60 minutes of regulation play with full stoppages, followed by a 3-on-3 overtime period and a shootout, irrespective of the game's score. Live statistics and updates will be available on thepwhl.com and across the league's and teams' social media channels.
PWHL training camp rosters, which will include 28 to 32 players per team, are expected to be announced the week of October 5th.
