Fraser Minten Signs Long-Term Deal with Boston Bruins

Boston Bruins forward Fraser Minten has committed his future to the team, signing a seven-year contract extension worth $50.4 million. The deal, which commences next season, carries an average annual value of $7.2 million.

The 22-year-old Minten, who could have become a restricted free agent this offseason, achieved new NHL career highs during the 2025-26 season. He recorded 17 goals, 18 assists, and 35 points in 82 games. His point total of 35 was the highest for a Bruins rookie since the 2017-18 season, when Danton Heinen and Jake DeBrusk posted 47 and 43 points, respectively.

Minten also led all rookies in plus/minus rating with a +21, good for second on the Bruins. He contributed significantly in other areas, ranking fifth on the team in hits with 142 and takeaways with 27. His strong performance earned him NHL Rookie of the Month honors for January, as he led first-year players in goals with eight and tied for the lead in points with 14.

Minten was originally selected by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the second round (38th overall) of the 2022 NHL Draft. He was later traded to the Bruins on March 7, 2025, as part of the trade that sent defenseman Brandon Carlo to Toronto.
