Liam Kidney Returns to Cyclones for Full Pro Season
CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Cincinnati Cyclones, affiliated with the Toronto Maple Leafs in the ECHL, have announced the signing of forward Liam Kidney for the 2026-27 season. This agreement will see Kidney play his first complete professional season with the Cyclones.
Kidney, 25, previously played 19 games for Cincinnati last season after concluding his collegiate hockey career at Acadia University. During his initial stint with the Cyclones, he accumulated eight points, including four goals and four assists, by the end of the 2025-26 campaign. He scored his first professional goal on March 21, 2026, against the Fort Wayne Komets and finished the season with a three-game point streak.
Prior to his professional career, Kidney recorded 79 points (26 goals, 53 assists) with the Acadia University Axemen. In his final collegiate season, he achieved a career-high of 28 points (7 goals, 21 assists) and ranked second in scoring for the Axemen. In junior hockey, Kidney played for four teams in the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), including the Cape Breton Eagles, Acadie-Bathurst Titan, Drummondville Voltigeurs, and Rimouski Océanic. Across his five-year QMJHL career, Kidney amassed 80 points (31 goals, 49 assists) in 193 games.
