Nigeria's D'Tigress Squad Features Three Key Players for Upcoming Matches, Including France
Coach Rena Wakama has largely maintained her victorious squad, retaining 11 players from the team that secured a historic fifth consecutive title at the Women's AfroBasket, following their final victory against Mali in Abidjan.
Among the most influential players in this squad are Murjanatu Musa (1.87 m, 25 years old), Amy Okonkwo (1.88 m, 29 years old), and Ezinne Kalu (1.73 m, 33 years old).
Murjanatu Musa, having previously played for Tarbes, is now a key player for Basket Landes and has established herself as one of the top performers in the EuroLeague. Amy Okonkwo has had a notable career in France, playing for Saint-Amand, Landerneau, and Bourges. Like Ezinne Kalu, who spent three seasons at Landerneau, Okonkwo was born in the United States.
Nigeria's campaign of matches will commence on March 11 against Colombia, followed by a game against South Korea the very next day. After a short break, the D'Tigress will face the Philippines on March 14, France on March 15, and finally Germany on March 17.
