France vs. Belgium: Key Absences Ahead of Nations League Clash

October 3, 2026Pablo Navarro1 мин

Dayot Upamecano, sidelined for Friday's match against Italy, will miss France's upcoming game against Belgium on Monday. The Belgian Red Devils will also face player shortages.

Both France and Belgium will be without key players for their rematch on Monday. A week after France's 0-1 victory in Brussels, the teams will meet again at the Stade de France for the final fixture of this current international break.

France's defensive leader, Dayot Upamecano, is unavailable for this encounter. The Bayern Munich player received a second yellow card during the 1-1 draw with Italy on Friday, resulting in an automatic one-match suspension.

Belgium will also be missing vital contributors. Kevin De Bruyne, who scored two spectacular goals (his 39th and 40th for the national team), earned a yellow card that will keep him out of the match against France at the Stade de France. Captain Youri Tielemans faces the same penalty, having also been cautioned on Friday in Liège, ruling him out against the French.

Top Spot on the Line

With seven points, France leads Group 1 of League A. They will need a significantly improved performance against the second-placed Red Devils (6 points) on Monday to end this initial period under Zidane on a positive note and move past their draw with Italy.
