Preview Fenerbahce Prospect Chief Confirms Talks with Paolo Maldini for New Role

Hakan Safi, a candidate for the Fenerbahce presidency, has confirmed reports of his meeting with football legend Paolo Maldini to discuss a potential new role within the club. Safi expressed optimism about the prospect, stating, “We will do beautiful things together.”

As the Turkish club approaches its presidential elections, candidates are actively seeking ways to win over supporters, especially after falling short of the league title to rivals Galatasaray. Safi was recently seen in Italy, where he held discussions at Casa Milan with club directors. It was also rumored that he had a dinner meeting with former AC Milan director Maldini, a detail Safi has now publicly confirmed in an interview conducted on his private jet.

“We sat down with Maldini and talked,” Safi stated. “He will be our football brain in the world, our football ambassador. We will do beautiful things together. In the transfers I will make in the future, we will benefit from Maldini’s presence.”

Maldini, a legendary figure for both AC Milan and the Italian national team, has previously indicated a preference for working only with his beloved Rossoneri. However, he has shown openness to opportunities outside of Serie A. Notably, he has been a co-owner of Miami FC since 2015, prior to his tenure as technical director at AC Milan from 2019 to 2023.
