Aurelio De Laurentiis, President of Napoli, spoke out shortly after the Italian national team’s bitter elimination in Bosnia. On Radio CRC, he expressed his deep concerns about the current state of Italian football.
Analyzing structural problems, De Laurentiis did not hesitate to propose radical solutions. Among these, he strongly suggested a Serie A reduced to just 16 teams and named Giovanni Malagò as the ideal figure to assume the presidency of the FIGC (Italian Football Federation). His statements aim to reform the system to prevent future sporting failures.
