AC Milan is preparing for significant financial consequences, with potential costs reaching up to €22 million following the dismissal of coach Massimiliano Allegri and prominent directors Giorgio Furlani, Igli Tare, and Geoffrey Moncada. This move comes after the club’s failure to secure a Champions League spot for the upcoming season due to a fifth-place finish in Serie A during the 2025-26 campaign, forcing the club to essentially rebuild from the ground up this summer.
According to reports, the financial impact of these sackings will be classified as non-recurring charges in the club’s financial statements for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026. The largest portions of these payouts are expected to go to CEO Giorgio Furlani and coach Massimiliano Allegri.
Furlani, whose contract was set to run until 2028, had an annual salary of €3 million plus bonuses, accumulating to approximately €10 million gross. Coach Allegri is under contract until June 2027 with a salary of €5 million, totaling around €9 million gross.
The remaining contract for former sporting director Igli Tare is valued at €3 million gross, as his deal was set to expire in 2028 with an annual wage of €800,000. Geoffrey Moncada had recently agreed to a new contract but had not yet signed it, meaning his current deal with the Rossoneri has only one month remaining.
It is important to note that the financial burden on Milan for these dismissals could be reduced in the future if Tare, Allegri, or Furlani secure new positions with other clubs or companies. For instance, Allegri is reportedly a frontrunner to replace Antonio Conte at Napoli.
