The Winnipeg Jets and forward Morgan Barron have reached an agreement, successfully avoiding the need for arbitration.
The team announced Monday that Barron has signed a new two-year contract valued at $3.7 million.
During the regular season, Barron played in 74 games for the Jets, contributing 15 points on eight goals and seven assists. He added two assists over 13 playoff contests.
The 26-year-old native of Halifax was originally drafted by the New York Rangers in 2017, selected 174th overall in the sixth round.
He was acquired by the Jets in March 2022 as part of the trade that sent Andrew Copp to New York.
In his five-season NHL career, split between the Rangers and the Jets, Barron has accumulated 60 points (30 goals, 30 assists) across 256 games played.
