Preview UFC 319 Card Unveiled: Co-Main Event Spot Remains TBD

The main card for UFC 319 has been announced, though with a notable caveat regarding one key bout.

UFC 319 is set to take place in Chicago next month, marking the promotion`s first return to the city in six years. The event is headlined by the highly anticipated middleweight championship bout between champion Dricus du Plessis and Khamzat Chimaev. During the UFC 318 broadcast on Saturday night, the world’s leading mixed martial arts promotion unveiled the full main card for the upcoming pay-per-view, with one significant omission.

While the du Plessis vs. Chimaev middleweight title fight is confirmed as the main event, the co-main event spot remains unconfirmed. Promotional graphics displayed “TBD vs. TBD” for this slot, indicating that an official pairing has yet to be finalized.

Speculation has arisen recently that a featherweight clash between Movsar Evloev and Aaron Pico, which was initially scheduled for UFC Abu Dhabi next Saturday but subsequently cancelled, might be rebooked for UFC 319. However, these rumors have not yet been officially confirmed.

Other confirmed main card bouts include a welterweight contest featuring ranked fighters Geoff Neal and Carlos Prates, a middleweight clash between former title challenger Jared Cannonier and Michael “Venom” Page, and opening the show, a flyweight bout between Tim Elliott and Kai Asakura.

UFC 319 is scheduled for August 16th at the United Center in Chicago.
