The Ottawa Senators have officially brought back forward Jan Jenik, securing him on a one-year, two-way contract for the upcoming 2025-26 National Hockey League season. The team made the announcement on Monday, August 25, 2025.
Jenik, now 24 years old, joined the Senators organization last season. He was acquired in a trade with the Utah Mammoth, with forward Egor Sokolov heading the other way. During his brief stint in the NHL with Ottawa, Jenik played in two games but did not record any points.
Most of his previous season was spent developing with the Belleville Senators, Ottawa`s affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL). There, he demonstrated his offensive capabilities by scoring 12 goals and adding 17 assists in 52 appearances.
Originally a third-round pick (65th overall) by the Arizona Coyotes in the 2018 NHL Draft, Jenik has accumulated four goals and two assists across 24 career NHL games to date.
