The Pittsburgh Penguins have officially secured a deal with one of their top prospects.
Ben Kindel, who was chosen 11th overall in the recent June NHL Draft, has agreed to a three-year entry-level contract, the team announced on Tuesday.
The 18-year-old Kindel is eligible to play for either the Penguins organization or be returned to the Calgary Hitmen of the Western Hockey League (WHL) for the upcoming season.
During the 2024-25 season with the Hitmen, the forward demonstrated strong offensive production, scoring 35 goals and adding 64 assists for a total of 99 points across 65 games.
Kindel, who hails from Coquitlam, British Columbia, also achieved international success last season, winning two gold medals while representing Team Canada at the U-18 World Championship and the Hlinka Gretzky Cup tournaments.
