The Florida Panthers have finalized a new one-year contract with forward Mackie Samoskevich.

Samoskevich, who was a restricted free agent, completed his first full season in the NHL during 2024-25, accumulating 31 points from 15 goals and 16 assists over 72 games played.

He also contributed one assist across four playoff contests as the Panthers successfully defended their Stanley Cup title for a second consecutive year.

In a statement announcing the signing, Panthers president and general manager Bill Zito commented on the young player`s impact.

“Mackie is a talented young forward who demonstrated skill and maturity well above his age in his first full NHL season. He showcased his ability to slot into any hole in our lineup and find success this past season, which is a testament to both his play and character. We look forward to seeing him compete in our organization for years to come.”

Florida originally selected Samoskevich 24th overall in the first round of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.

The 22-year-old native of Newtown, Connecticut, played two seasons for the University of Michigan before joining the Panthers organization professionally.

He initially made his NHL debut with Florida during the 2023-24 season, appearing in seven games without recording any points.
