Neil Magny, who holds the record for the most wins in the UFC`s welterweight division, is slated to return to the octagon on August 2nd. He is scheduled to compete on the UFC Vegas 108 card, where he will face Elizeu Zaleski at the UFC APEX facility.
Sources familiar with the situation have confirmed this matchup.
The UFC Vegas 108 event is expected to be headlined by a flyweight clash between Amir Albazi and Tatsuro Taira, and will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
Magny, holding a professional record of 29 wins and 13 losses, is looking to rebound. His previously planned fight against Gunnar Nelson at UFC 318 on July 19th was canceled. The veteran fighter, who turns 38 the day after the event, is currently on a two-fight losing streak, having suffered defeats against rising contenders Michael Morales and Carlos Prates.
With 22 victories in his 34 UFC appearances since 2012, “Haitian Sensation” boasts impressive wins over former UFC champions such as Robbie Lawler, Carlos Condit, and Johny Hendricks.
Elizeu Zaleski, with a record of 25 wins, 9 losses, and 1 draw, aims to get back to winning ways. His last outing in March 2024 resulted in a second-round TKO loss to Chidi Njokuani. Prior to that, he secured a finish against short-notice opponent Zach Scroggin four months earlier.
“Capoeira” had built momentum in the promotion with notable wins over Benoit Saint-Denis and Abubakar Nurmagomedov before a majority draw against Rinat Fakhretdinov marked the beginning of his recent 1-2 stretch inside the octagon.
