The Los Angeles Lakers officially unveiled their new Statement Edition uniform for the upcoming 2025-26 season earlier this week, on Monday.
Bringing back a familiar purple base, reminiscent of their 2022-23 design, this new Statement Edition uniform features notable changes. Unlike the previous version which used gold text for the team name and a dark number, the 2025-26 iteration displays the `Lakers` wordmark and player numbers in sharp white, accented with gold trim.
Key Design Elements:
The uniform includes purple and white stripes detailing the collar. A key visual update is seen on the side panels: replacing the previous black accents, they now feature a bold design incorporating purple, gold, and white, with `Los Angeles Lakers` text prominently integrated, appearing to glow.
Above the jock tag, the phrase `Leave a Legacy` is inscribed. On the back of the neck, the number 17 is displayed, commemorating the franchise`s 17 NBA championships.
For the first time on a core uniform, the team`s distinctive `LA` logo will be featured on both sides of the shorts, described by the team as adding a `balancing finishing touch`.
According to a news release from the team, the Statement Edition jersey is part of their full uniform set for the season, which also includes their gold Icon Edition, white Association Edition, and the yearly City Edition uniform.
