Originally, Boston Celtics media personnel were scheduled for a casual pickup basketball game amongst themselves at the team`s training center. However, Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla had a surprise in store.

Reporters had been informed they could utilize the Auerbach Center courts for their game following the team`s practice. When questioned about the arrangement, Mazzulla revealed an unexpected alteration to the schedule.

“I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you won`t be playing against each other. Instead, you`ll be facing off against the coaching staff,” he informed the journalists.

As might be expected, the match unfolded precisely as anticipated. Mazzulla and his coaching team utterly dominated the 12-minute contest, concluding with a resounding 57-4 victory.

Mazzulla`s formidable staff boasts several former NBA players, including 6-foot-9 forward Amile Jefferson, guard Phil Pressey, and 6-7 forward Da`Sean Butler, who was also Mazzulla`s college teammate. Legendary ball-handler God Shammgod was also present. Mazzulla himself, a four-year player during his time at West Virginia, also participated in the game.

Celtics star players Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum observed the proceedings from an elevated vantage point above the practice court.

Celtics on CNLS reporter Noa Dalzell candidly described the experience: “It`s difficult to even articulate the events of that game. To label it a catastrophe for us journalists would be an understatement. The colossal disparity in athleticism—covering speed, size, instincts, and every other facet—felt so overwhelming that I can barely recall specific moments. I would genuinely appreciate seeing a box score, but the sheer volume of live-ball turnovers we accumulated would likely be too disheartening to review.”

Following their humbling defeat, the media contingent eventually held their originally planned pickup game. In that match, the white team emerged victorious over the green team with a score of 25-22, a stark difference from the earlier one-sided affair.
