Vlahović: A New Suitor Emerges for the Serbian Striker

August 8, 2026Pablo Navarro1 мин

Dusan Vlahović's future could potentially intertwine with that of Alexander Sorloth. Atletico Madrid is reportedly evaluating the former Juventus striker as a possible reinforcement. However, before making a concrete move, the Spanish club needs to free up space in their attacking department and, crucially, manage their wage bill.

The Colchoneros' strategy appears to have a mandatory prerequisite: finding a new club for Sorloth. Only after the Norwegian's potential departure could Atletico launch an offensive for the Serbian center-forward.

Vlahović Becomes the Post-Sorloth Target

Should Atletico successfully facilitate Sorloth's sale, Vlahović's name is expected to rise in prominence on their transfer wish list. The Serbian striker is available on a free transfer following the conclusion of his tenure at Juventus, making the operation particularly appealing. While no transfer fee would be required for his acquisition, negotiations regarding the player's and his entourage's financial demands would still need to be addressed.

For Diego Simeone, Vlahović would represent an attacker with distinct characteristics: physically powerful, left-footed, accustomed to playing as a central reference point, and still in the prime of his career.

Besiktas Also Monitoring Vlahović

Atletico is not alone in their interest. Besiktas has already made inquiries regarding the player and represents one of the alternative options for the Serbian's future. However, Vlahović might be more attracted to the prospect of continuing to compete in one of Europe's top leagues. An offer from Atletico could allow the former Juventus player to relaunch his career in La Liga with a highly ambitious project.

For the moment, however, Madrid must wait.

A Domino Effect That Also Interests Juventus

This situation warrants attention in Turin as well. Not because Vlahović might return to Juventus, but because Sorloth's potential sale could alter certain market dynamics.
