"Another thing I want to mention concerns the situation with Mike, Rabiot, and Modric. Rabiot, Modric, and Maignan were given more days off because they played more. This was important to me. Everyone complains about the number of games and how players can't handle the strain, and I gave those extra days to the players because I already knew they wouldn't be able to play today's match. So, I gave them three extra days. Nothing will change. And it's very important for me to state that this was my decision, not the players'. And they want to train. Tomorrow, they will be at Milanello preparing for the first match. They had a full program, and they followed it, because we have proof they did. So I want this to be absolutely clear, as I believe it's important."
Will Maignan be able to play against Torino?
"It's a different position. He has been training the whole time. If you look at the number of games he has played in recent seasons with Milan, he plays every match. He will be ready for the first game because it's a different position. We will assess Rabiot. Rabiot is a truly important player for us. But, as we demonstrated today, we must have faith. We need to rest players who require rest because it will be a very demanding season. We also have other players ready to play, but I believe they will be ready to contribute in the next match."
