The Florida Panthers continue to bolster their roster with another significant off-season acquisition.

General Manager Bill Zito announced Friday that the Panthers have agreed to a one-year contract with veteran forward Luke Kunin. The specific financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

This physical center has played nine seasons in the NHL, making stops with the Minnesota Wild, Nashville Predators, San Jose Sharks, and most recently, the Columbus Blue Jackets. Throughout 434 regular-season games, Kunin has accumulated 142 points (73 goals, 69 assists), averaging 14 minutes and 53 seconds of ice time per game.

Kunin`s contributions extend beyond the ice; he was nominated for the King Clancy Memorial Trophy in both 2023 and 2024 for his extensive foundation work with the Luke Kunin T1D Fund and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

A native of Chesterfield, Missouri, Kunin spent three seasons with the San Jose Sharks before being traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets in March 2025.

He was originally drafted 15th overall in the first round of the 2016 NHL Draft by the Minnesota Wild.
