At the recent BKFC Champions Summit press conference, co-owner Conor McGregor made a series of notable announcements, headlined by the confirmed return of prominent bare-knuckle fighter, Mike Perry.
Perry, known widely by his moniker “The King of Violence” and arguably the face of the promotion, is slated to compete again on October 11th. His upcoming bout follows a period away from BKFC competition. Addressing Perry during the presser, McGregor asserted his ownership status, stating, “You’re welcome back because I welcomed you back… Oct. 11 is your date, and you’ll dance for me, boy. You’ll dance for the owner, and then we can talk.”
While Perry has publicly expressed his desire for a potential high-profile matchup against McGregor himself in the bare-knuckle ring, McGregor indicated that Perry must first successfully navigate his scheduled fight. The opponent for October 11th remains undisclosed but was teased by McGregor as a formidable veteran who has previously competed in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
Beyond the highly anticipated return of Mike Perry, the event also served as the platform for BKFC to unveil several significant new additions to their fighter roster. The most prominent name among the signings is former UFC middleweight title challenger Yoel Romero, who is transitioning into bare-knuckle fighting, adding another dimension to his storied combat sports career.
The list of new acquisitions also includes former UFC light heavyweight title challenger Thiago Santos, seeking a fresh start in the bare-knuckle format. Other notable signings announced were UFC veterans Derek Brunson and Aspen Ladd, alongside former boxing world champion James DeGale, further bolstering BKFC`s talent pool with diverse combat sports backgrounds.
