Fiorentina defender Pietro Comuzzo has issued a strong caution, emphasizing that the team must avoid the critical error of underestimating Rakow in the upcoming Conference League fixture, and equally, not allow their attention to be diverted by their Serie A schedule.

Fiorentina, known as the Viola, narrowly advanced to the Round of 16 following a dramatic play-off against Jagiellonia. After a commanding 3-0 away victory in the first leg, they suffered an identical 3-0 defeat at home, ultimately progressing 5-4 on aggregate after extra time.
This challenging progression was succeeded by a significant 3-0 Serie A loss to Udinese and a frustrating goalless draw with Parma, leading to a noticeable decline in team confidence recently.
Comuzzo Emphasizes Laser Focus for Fiorentina
Speaking to Sky Sport Italia, Comuzzo stressed, “We absolutely cannot afford to underestimate this fixture. Rakow is a formidable opponent, maintaining an unbeaten record in the Conference League. Therefore, we must approach the game with the correct mindset from the very first whistle. Securing a clean sheet will be crucial.”
Fiorentina is currently contending with several absences due to injury, including Moise Kean, Manor Solomon, Luca Lezzerini, and Tariq Lamptey. Additionally, defender Marin Pongracic is unavailable due to a suspension.

With a significant and potentially decisive Serie A relegation clash against Cremonese looming, tactical squad rotation is anticipated to ensure player readiness for that critical fixture.
Comuzzo reiterated, “Our focus must be absolute on the present. Discussions about Serie A and Cremonese can wait until tomorrow; for now, our entire concentration is on the Conference League.”
Beyond Fiorentina’s broader struggles this season, the young defender himself, who was previously linked with a transfer to Napoli, acknowledged personal challenges. He commented, “It’s entirely normal for expectations surrounding me to rise after last season, and to experience fluctuations in form. However, I am confident that through diligent effort, we can all continue to progress and improve.”
