The beloved red pinstripes of the Chicago Bulls are making a grand return, much to the delight of fans.
On Tuesday, the Chicago Bulls officially unveiled their Statement Edition jerseys for the upcoming 2025-26 season. These striking black uniforms, famously accented with red pinstripes, evoke memories of the legendary Michael Jordan era. This marks the third time in the franchise`s nearly 60-year history that this distinctive “Statement Edition” design has been featured.
The original iteration of these uniforms was first seen during the historic 1995-96 season, a year in which Jordan and the Bulls achieved an astounding 72-10 record en route to a championship. While the design reappeared in the 1996-97, 2007-08, and 2012-13 seasons, it has been absent from the court since 2013. Earlier black uniforms either lacked pinstripes entirely or featured a more subdued, embossed gray version.
To add to the excitement of the unveiling, the Bulls enlisted Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman, who expressed his strong fondness for the uniforms. Rodman himself was a key player during the team`s back-to-back championships, a period when these very uniforms were in active rotation.
“I remember when we first introduced this. It was legendary, man,” Rodman remarked. “These jerseys right here are legendary. It`s not even a throwback; it`s like brand-new for the new generation.”
Fans can anticipate seeing the Bulls sport these iconic jerseys during specific “Statement Edition” game nights throughout the forthcoming season.
Despite not being worn since 2013, the enduring legacy of this design is so profound that even MLB`s Chicago White Sox drew inspiration from it for their own 2025 City Connect uniform, highlighting its widespread appeal and recognition.
