During an interview with TMW this evening, Umberto Calcagno, the president of the Italian Footballers’ Association (AIC), also commented on the proposal put forward by Luciano Spalletti. Calcagno expressed his disagreement with the idea of a mandatory Under-19 player requirement.
The AIC president argued that such a mandate does not effectively promote and value young talent. He believes that focusing on rigid age regulations might not be the best approach to nurturing and developing the skills of emerging players in Italian football.
