The Chicago Blackhawks have solidified their future by officially signing one of their most anticipated young talents to a professional contract.

The team announced on Thursday that promising forward Anton Frondell has agreed to a three-year, entry-level deal, securing his place within the organization.

Frondell, who recently turned 18, was a high-profile selection for Chicago, having been chosen as the third overall pick in the most recent NHL Draft.

During his tenure with Djurgårdens IF in Sweden, spanning from 2023 to 2025, the dynamic forward showcased significant potential. In 38 regular-season games, he impressively tallied 26 points, consisting of 11 goals and 15 assists.

His stellar performance in the 2024-25 season earned him the prestigious HockeyAllsvenskan`s Rookie of the Year award. Frondell also played a pivotal role in leading his team to the HockeyAllsvenskan Championships, contributing seven points (five goals, two assists) across 16 crucial qualifying matches.

The 198-pound Swede further distinguished himself on the international stage, earning a silver medal with his national team at the 2025 World Under-18 Championship, where he registered three points in five contests.
